Digital Leadership: Evidence from Theory and Practice (Routledge Studies in Leadership Research)
Par Ahmad M. Salih. 2024
In the evolving landscape of leadership, factors from both environmental and cultural dimensions play a crucial role. In the contemporary…
era of digitalisation and globalisation, the impact on leadership has expanded significantly. This places greater pressure on leaders to succeed. The integration of technology and knowledge management adds complexity, demanding not only effectiveness but also cultural adaptability for navigating digital organisational changes. Effective leadership prerequisites endure, regardless of technological influence. Amid the push for digital leadership in modern organisations, it's essential to acknowledge the complexity of defining and analysing leadership. This treatise emphasises adaptability and intelligence as foundational for digital leaders and followers. Organisational ambidexterity underscores the simultaneous need for digital alignment and adaptability in effective leadership. This book emphasises followership's natural evolution in individual growth. It delves into the intricate interplay between leadership and followership within the globalised, digital context. Core to the narrative is the 'intelligently learning organization,' a concept explored throughout and conclusively in Chapter 7. While technological prowess benefits leaders, it's vital to recognise its limitations in achieving organisational growth. The text highlights 'digital dexterity,' a concept evaluating internal capacities for embracing digital trajectories. This nascent concept is vital for modern digital leaders to embody.Adoption of Emerging Information and Communication Technology for Sustainability
Par Ewa Ziemba, Jarosław. 2024
This book represents an important voice in the discourse on the adoption of emerging ICT for sustainability. It focuses on…
how emerging ICT acts as a crucial enabler of sustainability, offering new forward-looking approaches to this field. The book explores how emerging ICT adoption drives sustainability efforts in business and public organizations, promoting ecological, economic, social, cultural, and political sustainability. The book's theoretical discussions, conceptual approaches, empirical studies, diverse perspectives, and views make it a valuable and comprehensive reference work. Appealing to both researchers and practitioners, this book provides significant areas for research and practice related to the contribution of emerging ICT adoption to sustainability. It also suggests vital considerations for programming and building sustainable development-driven emerging ICT adoption. Readers will find answers to important contemporary questions, such as: What are the concepts, frameworks, models, and approaches to enhance sustainable development through the adoption of emerging ICT? How does the adoption of emerging ICT influence sustainability? How can emerging ICT be adopted to enhance sustainability? What are the current practices and successful cases of emerging ICT adoption for sustainability? What factors influence emerging ICT adoption to enhance sustainability? This book examines Israel’s civil-military relations (CMR) in order to explore alternatives to orthodox Western models of security sector reform…
(SSR) in post-conflict societies. This book argues that the guidelines of SSR have always tended to draw on theoretical work in the field of CMR and focus too heavily on Western, liberal democratic models of governance. Consequently, reform programs based on these guidelines, and intended for use in post-conflict and conflict-affected states, have had, at best, mixed results. The book challenges the necessity for this over-reliance on traditional Western liberal democratic solutions and instead advocates an alternative approach. It proposes that by drawing on an unconventional CMR model, that in turn references the specific context and cultural background of the particular state being subject to reform, there is a significantly higher chance of success. Drawing on a case study of Israel's CMR, the author seeks to provide practical assistance to those working in this area and considers the question of how this unorthodox CMR model might usefully inform post-conflict and conflict-affected SSR programmes. This book will be of interest to students of military studies, security studies, Israeli politics, and International Relations. No Lifeguard on Duty (Black Horse Campground Mysteries #Vol. 2)

acclaimed sociologist and best-selling author Eric Klinenberg&“A gripping, deeply moving account of a signal year in modern history, told through the stories of seven ordinary people. Klinenberg&’s narrative shows how the legacy of that year continues to shape us, our politics and our personal lives.&”—Siddhartha Mukherjee, Pulitzer Prize-winning author of The Emperor of All Maladies2020 will go down alongside 1914, 1929, and 1968 as one of the most consequential years in history. This riveting and affecting book is the first attempt to capture the full human experience of that fateful time.At the heart of 2020 are seven vivid profiles of ordinary New Yorkers—including an elementary school principal, a bar manager, a subway custodian, and a local political aide—whose experiences illuminate how Americans, and people across the globe, reckoned with 2020. Through these poignant stories, we revisit our own moments of hope and fear, the profound tragedies and losses in our communities, the mutual aid networks that brought us together, and the social movements that hinted at the possibilities of a better world.Eric Klinenberg vividly captures these stories, casting them against the backdrop of a high-stakes presidential election, a surge of misinformation, rising distrust, and raging protests. We move from the epicenter in New York City to Washington and London, where political leaders made the crisis so much more lethal than it had to be. We bear witness to epidemiological battles in Wuhan and Beijing, along with the initiatives of scientists, citizens, and policy makers in Australia, Japan, and Taiwan, who worked together to save lives.Klinenberg allows us to see 2020—and, ultimately, ourselves—with unprecedented clarity and empathy. His book not only helps us reckon with what we lived through, but also with the challenges we face before the next crisis arrives. One of a Kind: The Life of Sydney Taylor
