silly voice." — The New York Times "There's something terribly irresistible about her narration, which is often incredibly funny." — BookPage Part travelogue, part culinary history, all capitalist critique—comedian Jamie Loftus's debut, Raw Dog , will take you on a cross-country road trip in the summer of 2021, and reveal what the creation, culture, and class influence of hot dogs says about America now. "Wise and funny" —ANDY RICHTER "Gonzo yet vulnerable" —GABE DUNN "Hot dog Moby-Dick " —BRANSON REESE "Revealing, funny, sad, horny, and insatiably curious" —SARAH MARSHALL "A wild ride" —ROBERT EVANS "Deeply incisive and hilariously honest" —JACK O'BRIEN Hot dogs. Poor people created them. Rich people found a way to charge fifteen dollars for them. They're high culture, they're low culture, they're sports food, they're kids' food, they're hangover food, and they're deeply American, despite having no basis whatsoever in America's Indigenous traditions. You can love them, you can hate them, but you can't avoid the great American hot dog. Raw Dog: The Naked Truth About Hot Dogs is part investigation into the cultural and culinary significance of hot dogs and part travelog documenting a cross-country road trip researching them as they're served today. From avocado and spice in the West to ass-shattering chili in the East to an entire salad on a slice of meat in Chicago, Loftus, her pets, and her ex eat their way across the country during the strange summer of 2021. It's a brief window into the year between waves of a plague that the American government has the resources to temper, but not the interest. So grab a dog, lay out your picnic blanket, and dig into the delicious and inevitable product of centuries of violence, poverty, and ambition, now rolling around at your local 7-Eleven. Par Emily Nagoski. 2024
From the New York Times bestselling author of Come as You Are and co-author of Burnout comes an illuminating exploration…
of how to maintain a happy sex life in a long-term relationship. &“Emily Nagoski is a national treasure—helping us all understand how to finally build true, joyful, confident sex lives.&”—Glennon Doyle, author of Untamed In Come as You Are, Emily Nagoski, PhD, revolutionized the way we think about women&’s sexuality. Now, in Come Together, Nagoski takes on a fundamentally misunderstood subject: sex in long-term relationships. Most of us struggle at some point to maintain a sexual connection with our partner/s or spouse. And many of us are given not-very-good advice on what to do about it. In this book, Nagoski dispels the myths we&’ve been taught about sex—for instance, the belief that sexual satisfaction and desire are highest at the beginning of a relationship and that they inevitably decline the longer that relationship lasts. Nagoski assures us that&’s not true. So, what is true? Come Together isn&’t about how much we want sex, or how often we&’re having it; it&’s about whether we like the sex we&’re having. Nagoski breaks down the obstacles that impede us from enjoying sex—from stress and body image to relationship difficulties and gendered beliefs about how sex &“should&” be—and presents the best ways to overcome them. You&’ll learn: • that &“spontaneous desire&” is not the kind of desire to strive for if you want to have great sex for decades • vocabulary for talking with partners about ways to get in &“the mood&” and how to not take it personally when &“the mood&” is nowhere to be found • how to understand your own and your partner&’s &“emotional floorplan,&” so that you have a blueprint for how to get to a sexy state of mind Written with scientific rigor, humor, and compassion, Nagoski shows us what great sex can look like, how to create it in our own lives, and what to do when struggles ariseLe ripou des Hells

Written after her mother was diagnosed with cancer, Soft Inheritance follows the poet's rapidly evolving reality where "kindness is a scar," though "not all scar-makers are kind. ,"" Both a treatise on the sick body and the state of ""after"-post-caretaking, post-breakup, post-moving, and post-death-these poems question what is inherited, and ask what can safely be left behind. A diamond ring? A cancerous gene? Soft Inheritance is a finely crafted love letter to the people and places that imprint on a life.Shadow Blight
