graph-based optimization techniques. With effective information management being critical to successful manufacturing processes, this book emphasizes the importance of adequate modeling and systematic analysis of interacting elements in the era of smart manufacturing. The book provides an extensive overview of semantic technologies and their potential to integrate with existing industrial standards, planning, and execution systems to provide efficient data processing and analysis. It also investigates the design of Industry 5.0 solutions and the need for problem-specific descriptions of production processes, operator skills and states, and sensor monitoring in intelligent spaces. The book proposes that ontology-based data can efficiently represent enterprise and manufacturing datasets. The book is divided into two parts: modeling and optimization. The semantic modeling part provides an overview of ontologies and knowledge graphs that can be used to create Industry 4.0 and 5.0 applications, with two detailed applications presented on a reproducible industrial case study. The optimization part of the book focuses on network science-based process optimization and presents various detailed applications, such as graph-based analytics, assembly line balancing, and community detection. The book is based on six key points: the need for horizontal and vertical integration in modern industry; the potential benefits of integrating semantic technologies into ERP and MES systems; the importance of optimization methods in Industry 4.0 and 5.0 concepts; the need to process large amounts of data while ensuring interoperability and re-usability factors; the potential for digital twin models to model smart factories, including big data access; and the need to integrate human factors in CPSs and provide adequate methods to facilitate collaboration and support shop floor workers.Fractal Patterns with MATLAB (SpringerBriefs in Complexity)

images generated using the MATLAB codes provide visual delight and highly encourage the fractal lovers for creative thinking. The book compiles five cutting-edge research chapters, each with state-of-the art fractal illustrations. It starts with the fundamental theory for the construction of fractal sets via the deterministic iteration algorithm. Incorporating the theoretical base, fractal illustrations of elementary fractal sets are provided with the explicit MATLAB code. The book gives examples of MATLAB codes to present the fractal surfaces. This book is contributed to all the research beginners as well as the professionals on the field of fractal analysis. As it covers basic fractals like Sierpinski triangle to advanced fractal functions with explicit MATLAB code, the presented fractal illustrations hopefully benefit even the non-field readers. The book is a useful course to all the research beginners on the fractal and fractal-related fields.Exploring Genre through Gamified Adventures in Elementary Classrooms (Springer Texts in Education)

Par Brittany Ralph. 2023
This book explores how two generations of relatively privileged Australian men have navigated the complex terrain of same-gender friendship across…
their lives, to offer both empirically unique and theoretically significant insights into the mechanics of social change in masculinities. Applying a feminist poststructuralist lens to data from in-depth interviews with 14 pairs of fathers and sons, it details how masculinist discourses of emotion and intimacy have governed the participants’ friendship practices at three chronological timepoints: fathers’ early lives and later lives, and sons’ early lives. A clear but complicated shift emerges, such that the commitment to stoicism and self-reliance dominant in the fathers’ early lives has given way to a growing embrace of intimacy and emotional expression within their and their son's contemporary same-gender friendships. Engaging with key debates in the field of critical studies on men and masculinities (CSMM), this book offers an alternative to the conceptualisation of this positive change as either representative of a holistic disintegration of hegemonic structures, or a superficial behavioural shift that is largely inconsequential to the gender order. Rather, it illustrates that the increasing influence of feminist, queer-inclusion and therapeutic discourse has destabilised masculinism in the context of men’s friendships, offering men an alternative subject position that allows care, expressiveness and intimacy. This book will be of interest to scholars in Gender and Sexuality Studies, and Masculinity Studies.Applied and Clinical Sociology in Aotearoa New Zealand (Clinical Sociology: Research and Practice)
Par Zarine L. Rocha, Kathy L. Davidson. 2023
This is the first volume to explore clinical and applied sociology in Aotearoa New Zealand, while also providing unique insights…
into the practice of sociology internationally. Drawing out the intersections between sociological research, public sociology and applied sociology, the chapters in this volume enrich the rapidly growing field of international clinical sociology. Aotearoa New Zealand presents an important case study in the development and practice of sociology: with a vibrant social scientific community and a significant diversity of scholars and practitioners, local research and practice highlight the country’s innovative and often unusual approaches to addressing social problems. This volume brings together a diversity of scholars and practitioners, from the country’s top sociologists to early career researchers, and provides a comprehensive and valuable exploration of sociology and its many practical applications in this unique context. It covers a wide range of key topics in the field, from the challenges of practicing a public sociology in Aotearoa New Zealand to the role of applied and clinical sociologists in government and consultancies. Contemporary social issues are explored as case studies, including practising sociological psychotherapy; indigenous applications of sociology and Māori language learning; and applying sociology within healthcare. This is a key addition to applied and clinical sociology literature.Data Analytics for Process Engineers: Prediction, Control and Optimization (Synthesis Lectures on Mechanical Engineering)
Par Daniela Galatro, Stephen Dawe. 2024
This book provides an industry-oriented data analytics approach for process engineers, including data acquisition methods and sources, exploratory data analysis…
and sensitivity analysis, data-based modelling for prediction, data-based modelling for monitoring and control, and data-based optimization of processes. While many of the current data analytics books target business-related problems, the rationale for this book is a specific need to understand and select applicable data analytics approaches pragmatically to analyze process engineering–related problems; this tailored solution for engineers gets amalgamated with governing equations, and in several cases, with the physical understanding of the phenomenon being analyzed. We also consider this book strategically conceived to help map Education 4.0 with Industry 4.0 since it can support undergraduate and graduate students to gain valuable and applicable data analytics stills that can be further used in their workplace. Moreover, it can be used as a reference book for professionals, a quick reference to data analytics tools that can facilitate and/or optimize their process engineering tasks.AQA Level 3 Certificate in Mathematical Studies

privacy, and informed consent. It describes the US human research protection system used by clinical and applied sociologists, through a history of research ethics, including the landmark Belmont Report and the creation of the regulatory structure of Institutional Review Boards (IRBs) in the United States. It also discusses ethical research systems in other nations like Canada, the UK, Australia and New Zealand. The book provides a comprehensive account of controversial studies in the US, including Milgram’s Obedience to Authority, Zimbardo’s Stanford Prison Experiment, and the US Public Health Service, and the Tuskegee Syphilis Study, and analyzes how ethical concerns in these studies were or were not resolved. This book covers a topic of core interest to clinical and applied sociologists and other social science practitioners who do research, as well as students and teachers in research ethics courses in anthropology, psychology, political science, sociology, and philosophy, thereby broadening an awareness of clinical sociology.Circle of Stones: Woman's Journey to Herself
