Le destin ne lui a cependant pas permis d'achever son livre. Son récit s'interrompt en 1959, juste un peu avant le succès de "La Manic" qui allait le révéler comme chansonnier. La deuxième partie, qui n'a jamais pris forme, devait porter sur sa vie publique. Bruno Roy, spécialiste de la chanson québécoise, a imaginé une suite recomposée à partir de citations tirées d'entrevues réalisées à la télévision, dans les journaux ou les revues, de manière à ce que Georges Dor ait toujours la parole. Ses pensées, commentaires et réflexions sont regroupés, sous la forme d'un abécédaire, selon les thèmes abordés : l'amour, la chanson, la famille, la fidélité, et bien d'autres encore.
