Brisé par sa chute spectaculaire dans l'infamie pour avoir, contre toute raison, poursuivi en diffamation le père de son amant qui le traitait de "sodomite", Oscar Wilde proclamait qu'il avait mis son talent dans son oeuvre et son génie dans sa vie.
