Summary
Jessie Barfoot is 15, precocious, witty, and wounded, and has just moved to Toronto with her mother and new stepfather. She becomes curious about their cranky neighbour Martha, originally from the Netherlands, who is not only a superb gardener but… someone who has been ferociously guarding a secret since she was Jessie's age. Once Jessie charms her way into the garden, Martha's past slowly becomes revealed, threatening both their futures. Strong language. 2003.
