General fiction, Serious and literary fiction, Suspense and thrillers

Summary
As an IVF baby, Katherine was stored as a frozen embryo for eight years, and then implanted in her mother and given life. By age nineteen, she has lost her mother to cancer, and feels her father to be increasingly… distant. Instead of going to college, she disappears, telling no one where she has gone. What begins as an attempt to punish her father for his absence becomes a test of his love for her, coming-to-terms with her mother's death, and finally a leap to empowerment. Adult. Unrated
