Long, an eight-year-old Amerasian boy, describes his hazy memories of his American father and vivid recollections of his Vietnamese mother's suicide and his grandmother's struggle to protect him during wartime. He remembers the fall of Saigon, leaving Vietnam in 1975's… Operation Babylift, and his transition to his new identity as Matt Steiner.
